CASES IN DOVER
The Department of Public Health reported two new COVID-19 cases in Dover in the week that ended on 3/9/2021.  There were six cases during the prior week.

The Dover-Sherborn Schools reported two student cases at the high school and none among elementary or middle school students or staff.  Since school opened in September, there has been one case of probable in-school transmission.  That case occurred in the setting of a protocol error.

In Massachusetts, the number of cases reported each day has stopped declining, and there are still significantly more cases each day than there were in the summer and early fall.  It's very important that we continue with basic public health measures to reduce spread of the virus:

  • wear masks when out in public
  • make sure that your mask fits snugly
  • stay 6' away from people who are not members of your immediate household
  • outdoors is safer than indoors
  • avoid social gatherings unless you are with people who are all fully vaccinated (see below)
  • avoid indoor restaurant dining
  • get vaccinated once you are eligible
  • stay home and get tested if you have any symptoms that suggest COVID-19
  • stay home while awaiting test results
  • if you develop COVID-19 or are a close contact of a case, follow the instructions of the contact tracer carefully

VACCINE REGISTRATION UPDATE

prereg

  • Massachusetts has developed a new online vaccine registration system
  • Sign up at:   https://vaccinesignup.mass.gov/#/
  • Due to limited vaccine supplies, it may take several weeks for appointments to become available for all eligible individuals
  • There is no advantage to pre-registering if you are not yet eligible for vaccination
  • If you need assistance with the preregistration signup process, you may call either the Dover Council on Aging at 508-315-5734 or dial 211 (Mass 211 assistance)
