Detail Rate

Detail rate for Officers and Sergeants:

Private Police detail rate $65/hr

Detail Minimums

For utility work, road work, or security, the minimum detail pay shall be (4) hours.  For such details in excess of (4) hours duration, the minimum pay shall be (8) hours.   If the detail requires the Officer to work over (8) hours the Officer shall be paid in (4) hour blocks.  In addition, an administrative fee of 10% will also be charged for all details.

Cancellation

Cancellation or changes to the detail must be made at least (3) hours prior to the scheduled start time.  If the detail is cancelled less than (3) hours prior to the start time a (2) hour cancellation fee plus the administrative fee will be charged.

Legal Notice

LEGAL NOTICE: The hiring of a police officer for private duty work represents a legal contract with the Town of Dover requiring payment for services.  As services are typically provided in advance of billing, payment is expected immediately upon receipt of billing, but in no case should payment be received later than 30 days.  If payment is not received, you will be prohibited from working in the Town of Dover if a detail officer is required until all back balances are paid and may be required to prepay for private duty detail services required.  The Town of Dover reserves all rights and remedies under the law to collect payment, up to and including costs and legal fees for services rendered to enforce payment of this contract.
