Dover Town House Pilot Program Begins June 16

In an effort to better serve our community and enhance access to Town services, the Dover Town House will begin a pilot program with new operating hours starting Monday, June 16. This summer trial will transition the Town House to a four-day work week while maintaining the same total number of staff work hours.

Under the new schedule, the Town House will open earlier each day at 8:30 a.m and remain open later on Tuesdays until 7 p.m to accommodate residents with busy daytime schedules. The building will close at 5 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, and will be closed on Fridays.

This shift is designed to offer greater flexibility for residents — particularly those who work during standard business hours — by providing extended access one evening a week and consistent, full-day hours Monday through Thursday.

“We’re excited to launch this summer pilot program with the goal of improving service delivery for our residents,” said Town Administrator Michael Blanchard. “By extending hours one evening a week and offering more consistent access Monday through Thursday, we hope to better meet the needs of our community, especially those who can’t easily visit during the traditional 9-to-5 window.”

The Town of Dover encourages residents to share feedback throughout the summer. This pilot schedule will be evaluated at the end of the season to determine its effectiveness and community impact.
