Volunteer Opportunities
Our summer, Leadership Training Program at Summer Club is a Volunteer Opportunity for Dover resident high school students, ages 14+.
Through this annual program, young adults can gain volunteer service hours and work experience learning about the day-to-day operations of a day camp! Learn tips for working with children, ideas to help in leading activities with your peers, learn about the unique responsibilities of each staff position, and even meet some of our program families to see first-hand how important your service is to our local community!
Our Leadership Training Program's main goal is introducing students to the job market and how we aim to help these future employed people develop lifelong skills that will help them excel in any future job or career, whether or not they choose to serve children and families, or not!
Leadership Training Program (LTP) - Volunteer Requirements
SUMMER 2026 LEADERSHIP TRAINING PROGRAM APPLICATIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE ON MARCH 18, 2026
- Unpaid Position
- Must be a current resident of Dover, MA.
- Minimum age of 14 years old by the first day of camp.
- Weekday volunteer service hours are 8:45am to 12:15pm.
- Accepted volunteers must commit to two, week-long sessions over the course of a six-week camp season.
- Required to attend a pre-season volunteer training prior to the first day of camp. (Multiple dates and times will be made available to choose from, all scheduled outside of school hours)
- We encourage applicants to communicate with Mattie independently. (not parents / guardians)

- DOVER DAYS FAIR in Dover Center
- A VERY SPOOKY SATURDAY: Outdoor pumpkin decorating and trunk-or-treat with costumes, art, music and games at the Community Center.
- WELCOME WINTER: Seasonal lights on the Town Common, with music, crafts and games at the Community Center.
- WELCOME SPRING: Annual Egg Hunt on the Town Common with crafts, games and music at the Community Center.
- YOUTH FISHING DERBY at Channing Pond
Local students, age 14+ who are looking to earn school credit can download a school-year Volunteer Application Form HERE OR should contact our Recreation Supervisor, Mattie Clements for additional information regarding particular events staffing needs and availability.
